Removing and installing air supply unit
Special tools and workshop equipment required
    
t  Torque wrench -V.A.G 1331-
Removing
–  Raise vehicle.
–  Remove plastic cover from beneath spare wheel well.
   W00-0427
–  Pull off connectors -2- and -3-.
–  Unscrew air lines -arrows-.
–  Protect air lines from dirt.
   N43-0004
–  Remove hexagon bolts -4- and remove air supply unit -1- from spare wheel well.
Installing
Carry out installation in the reverse sequence, noting the following:
   N43-0004
–  Set air supply unit in place in spare wheel well.
–  Screw in hexagon bolts -4- and tighten them.
–  Attach air lines to solenoid valve block -A- and tighten them.
   N43-0004
Specified torques
Component Specified torque
Plastic cover to spare wheel well 2 Nm
Air lines on solenoid valve block 5 Nm
Air supply unit to spare wheel recess 9 Nm
